Συμμετοχή στο συνέδριο και φεστιβάλ κινηματογράφου Αμοργού

Press Release - 8ο Amorgos Tourism Film Festival
The 15th International YPERIA Convention on Culture and Tourism and the 8th Amorgos Film Festivalwith more than 100 people from 23 different countries of the world was completed with great success.
The Yperia Convention and the Amorgos Film Festival took place at the Aegialis Hotel & Spa in Aegiali,  on Amorgos Island.
special tribute was given to the environmental education and lifelong learning, with 5 films related to the subject, which were screened not only in the Festival Hall but also at the High School of Amorgos, at the Elementary-Primary School of Aigiali and in 3 other venues for cultural events throughout Amorgos.
The Film Festival entailed the Academy of Cinema with 15 students from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, with Professor John Driendonks from the Netherlands.
An international committee attended by the International Federation of CIFFT Festivals, based in Vienna, in order to approve the Amorgos Film Festival as a member of their Federation.
Distinguished speakers from the international board talked about the Film Commission and the importance and benefits of attracting foreign film production to a place where huge profits are made for the local and national economy not only by watching a film after its release, but also the benefits during filming.
Ο Κινηματογράφος, θεωρείται ένα σπουδαίο εργαλείο οικονομικής ανάπτυξης, και απτό παράδειγμα, είναι η τανία  ‘Απέραντο Γαλάζιο’, που έκανε την Αμοργό παγκοσμίως γνωστή. Με την ευκαιρία των 30 χρόνων από την δημιουργία της ταινίας, το ΥΠΕΡΙΑ 2017, ήταν αφιερωμένο στον Γάλλο παραγωγό Luc Besson και ο Έλληνας παραγωγός της ταινίας Νίκος Γιαννόπουλος, ήταν μαζί μας και μας έφερε πίσω στα γυρίσματα του Απέραντου Γαλάζιου στην Αμοργό πριν από 30 χρόνια.
Τις εργασίες του Συνεδρίου και του Φεστιβάλ, παρακολούθησε ο Πρόεδρος του ΕΟΤ κύριος Χαράλαμπος Καρίμαλης και ο Γενικός Γραμματέας κύριος Κωνσταντίνος Τσέγας.
Παρόντες ήταν 13 σκηνοθέτες/παραγωγοί που συμμετείχαν με τις ταινίες τους από διάφορες χώρες, καθώς και πλήθος δημοσιογράφων, bloggers, φωτογράφων,  κινηματογραφιστών,  από τον Ελληνικό και διεθνή χώρο.
Η Κριτική επιτροπή του Φεστιβάλ που αποτελείτο από 5 μέλη από την  Κροατία, την Αυστρία, την Πολωνία  και την Ελλάδα, έβγαλε τα αποτελέσματα για τις καλύτερες ταινίες του φεστιβάλ.  Διαγωνίστηκαν 65 ταινίες από 25 χώρες, στις κατηγορίες Ελληνικές Ταινίες, Ντοκυμαντέρ, Ταξίδια  και Διαφημιστικές.

Cinema is considered to be a great tool for economic growth, and a tangible example is the 'Big Blue', which made Amorgos known worldwide. On the occasion of the 30 years since the creation of the film, YPERIA 2017, was dedicated to the French producer Luc Besson. The Greek producer of the film Nikos Giannopoulos was with us and shared his feeling and memories of the shooting of the ‘Big Blue’ in Amorgos 30 years ago.
At the 15th YPERIA Convention and the 8th Amorgos Film Festival attended the President of the Greek National Tourism Organization, Mr. Charalambos Karimalis, and the General Secretary, Mr. Constantine Tsegas.
Present were 13 directors / producers who participated with their films, as well as, numerous journalists, bloggers, photographers, filmmakers from various countries.
The jury of the Festival, consisting of 5 members from Croatia, Austria, Poland and Greece, voted for the best films of the festival in 4 different categories. In total, 65 films from 25 countries competed, including Greek Films, Documentaries, Travel/Promotional and Commercials.

Great emphasis was placed on alternative forms of tourism, particularly in the protection of the environment, hiking and herbal tourism, wellness tourism, cultural tourism and religious tourism. Special mention was made to the Gastronomy of Amorgos, as the guests had the opportunity to taste many authentic recipes of Amorgos with local products in various restaurants on the island: Lakki restaurant in Aegiali, Panorama tales tavern, Kapetan restaurant Municipality in Katapola, where they participated with their own recipes and the local restaurants Victor, Mythos and Mouragio. Amorgian cuisine courses with recipes for cheesepies, stuffed goat, giaprakia, fava and xerotigana were conducted in collaboration with the newly established 'Gastronomy Club of Amorgos'. The guests participated in experiential activities and had the opportunity to meet the whole island of Amorgos.
The event was organized by Women's Cultural Association of Tholaria and the Aegialis Hotel & Spa, under the auspices of EOT, the South Aegean Region, the Ministry of the Aegean and Island Policy, the European Union and the Municipality of Amorgos.

The entrance was free to all screenings and speeches and easy access was guaranteed to participants with reduced mobility.
